John Domenico

If you’ve been to Balistreri Vineyards, chances are you’ve met myself or one of John and Birdie Balistreri’s nine other grandchildren! My mother, Julie Balistreri, the Winemaker’s daughter and Vice President, has four kids of her own: Angelina, myself, John and Geno. My brother, John, is pursuing degrees in Materials Engineering and Ceramic Fine Arts at Arizona State University. Or, as mom would put it, he became a “pothead”(no herbal relation). When we started talk of a summer wine dinner, my mother and brother quickly began discussing a way to sneak in some of John’s work. Presenting not only china that we will get to dine on at this Showcase

Dinner, we will also take a look into John’s somewhat nostalgic art pieces, ones that capture the history and tradition of growing up around the winery. John will also introduce pieces of classic Japanese influence and character, created through his study, fond interest in Japanese culture, and influence from uncle and ceramic artist John Balistreri. It will certainly be a treat to explore my brothers work, and to dine with great food and wine served on his new ceramic ware!
